2017 Minnesota GA Conference Registration Forms are Now Available

Our 2017 Minnesota GA/Gam Anon Conference "Just for Today" will be held on October 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Registration forms are ready to download, print and fill out. FOR NOW, please send all registrations to the P.O. Box listed on the registration form until further notice.

We are looking forward to watching enthusiasm for our conference to skyrocket out of here. We have already filled all 18 slots for our workshops. To those of us that have been to a past conference, please let people know in your meeting what our conference entails and how beneficial to our recovery it can be. Six weeks of meetings packed in two days is a pretty awesome experience.

Lots of "NEW" happening this year. NEW hotel location, NEW lower hotel room rates that includes breakfast to anyone staying at the hotel, and a NEW early registration benefit option, just to name a few. Click HERE to download the registration form, and please share at your meetings.

Got Talent?

Time to start thinking about doing an act at this year's conference talent show on Friday October 20th! Groups can do an act together - a skit, a song, etc. Solo acts are great as well. Be creative! The ideal length for your act is around 5 minutes. It is your talents that will make the show…

Be a Part of the 2017 GA/Gam-Anon Conference Memory Book!

The conference's Memory Book committee is gearing up to create an amazing and informative keepsake for the 2017 Minnesota GA / GAM-ANON Conference. Every registered conference attendee will receive a Memory Book. We’re asking for your help! We need submissions from you. Here are the types of items we’re looking for: Personal stories of recovery, poems, words of experience, strength, and hope, inspirational writings, appropriate GA & GAM-ANON humor, wisdom from those who came, but left us too soon (In Memory of).

New Number for the Wednesday Night GA Telephone Meeting

Please spread the word at your meetings that the phone number for the Wednesday night telephone meeting has changed.

If you are not able to make it to a physical meeting due to weather, illness, or distance, you are welcome to participate in our telephone meeting. While a phone meeting isn't meant to replace a physical meeting, it's a great addition to a recovery program.

The phone meeting is held from 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Central time. Call up to 15 minutes prior to the meeting start time. Click HERE for a flyer (with the new number) and more details!

Blue Book Revision Committee

The Blue Book Revision Committee is still looking for your stories of recovery to include in the new revision of the book. Click HERE for a flyer with more information.

Wanted: Your Experience, Strength, and Hope!

Sharing stories of our addiction and recovery are vital for those in all stages of recovery -- newcomers and old-timers alike. GA members are encouraged to speak of their personal journeys, and share their experience, strength, and hope with others.

Choose from these excellent opportunities:
  1. Volunteers are needed to participate in the monthly speaker meetings. Click HERE for more details.

  2. The area 8A Public Relations Committee has been contacting treatment centers in our area and supplying them with information about GA. So far they have been very receptive and several of them have requested that we have members come in and share their stories.
We are looking for volunteers with at least 6 months of clean time to speak (a person with less time can volunteer if their sponsor is present). We will be holding several workshops in the near future and you would be required to attend at least one before speaking. We are currently compiling a list of people who are willing to speak. Please click HERE for a flyer with more information if you are interested.

Intergroup Business Meetings

Intergroup meetings are held the first Saturday of each month at 3:00 pm (occasional exceptions will be posted here). Every GA group is invited to send a representative to the meeting, and all GA members are welcome! The location is:

    Holy Cross Lutheran Church
    1720 East Minnehaha Parkway
    Minneapolis, MN

The next Intergroup meeting will be on Saturday, August 5th at 3:00 pm.
